Beyoncé was finally awarded Album of the Year by the Recording Academy.

Beyoncé’s groundbreaking COWBOY CARTER won the Grammy Award for Album of the Year, marking the first time the record-breaking artist has nabbed the coveted honor.

COWBOY CARTER beat out Taylor Swift's THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT, Chappell Roan's Chappell Roan The Rise And Fall Of A Midwest Princess, Billie Eilish's HIT ME HARD AND SOFT, Jacob Collier's Djesse Vol. 4, Charli xcx's BRAT, Sabrina Carpenter's Short n' Sweet, and André 3000's New Blue Sun.

Beyoncé finally took home the trophy for Album of the Year after her fifth career nomination in the category. Last year, Beyoncé’s husband and fellow music star, Jay-Z, called out the Grammys for not honoring the Recording Academy's most-nominated artist with its most coveted award.

"It's been many many years," Beyoncé acknowledged during her acceptance speech.

The Grammy award winner took the stage with her daughter Blue Ivy and thanked her family, team, and Linda Martell, a pioneer for Black women in country music.

"I hope we keep pushing forward and opening doors," Beyoncé concluded her speech.
