With the heavy holiday traffic, The New Hampshire Department of Transportation said that there was only one major incident impacting travel over the entirety of the long weekend.
Yesterday on Memorial Day the traffic was still heavy and drivers coming from the mountains and lakes region sat in slowdowns on Interstate 93 from Canterbury through the Hooksett Tolls most of the day.
There were bigger problems out on the seacoast on Interstate 95. NHDOT activated the new shoulder travel system that created a temporary third lane for drivers crossing into New Hampshire from Maine’s state line.
With the warmer weather now here NHDOT says they're also asking people to be extra aware of motorcycles on New Hampshire's roads.
