Storm leaves behind downed trees and power outages in Seacoast communities

Yesterday afternoon there were severe thunderstorm for parts of the Seacoast that left behind downed trees and power outages.


Around 7:45pm, Eversource was reporting more than 1,000 customers without power in Greenland and Unitil was reporting more than 1,000 customers without power in Stratham.


Unitil posted on X, formerly known as Twitter posted around 5:50pm, around 2,600 customers in the Seacoast were without power.


Firefighters were on Stratham Lane in Greenland where a tree came down. Trees were also down on Willowbrook Avenue in Stratham.


The traffic lights were out on Ocean and Greenland Roads.


Unitil said to avoid downed wires and to stay at least 30 feet away.


After 10 p.m., Unitil reported more than 750 customers were without power and said they have made progress restoring outages and would continue working overnight until all customers are restored. Eversource reported more than 300 customers without power after 10 p.m.
